Moving Image Cork

Welcome to the newest media club in Cork, the South West and South of Ireland.

Moving Image Cork exists to give an outlet for all those with an interest in creative video, documentary and short film making – and even feature films. The founder members are aware that there is a large pool of talent in Munster with little or no opportunity for co-operation and the exchange of ideas and support. The club is an excellent way for amateurs and semi-professionals alike to develop their skills and co-operate in creating new Moving Image projects.

We welcome all those who have an interest in film making using both traditional equipment as well as the newer HD-DSLR cameras such as the Canons 5DMk2, 7D and 550D/600D and other HD video enabled cameras now coming onto the market. The interest in these cameras from the movie industry has resulted in an explosion of high quality filming from low budget film makers as well as from large studios like LucasFilm.

In the club’s short life members have made some 10 short films, two of which are in excess of 15 minutes in length, as well as filming charity gigs and producing promotional videos for drama groups.

We will continue to be very active in film production so if you want to be involved in any of our shoots, then come and join us.
